Burnley v Leicester
The Foxes travel to Turf Moor on the back of 3 straight wins, a resurgence which has seem them change from a side seemingly doomed to relegation to one which is very much still in with a shout of staying up. With their hosts similarly in need of a win to avoid falling off the pace, this is sure to be an intriguing encounter. If the form books are anything to go by, it is Nigel Pearson who will go home the happier man on Saturday – his side have scored 7 times in their last 3 games, putting 3 past West Brom and 2 past West Ham and Swansea. Burnley, on the other hand, have failed to score in their last 3 games, a run which has seen them replace their East Midland opponents at the foot of the table. At 7/4 it’s a no-brainer to back the in-form Foxes to triumph over the Clarets.

Everton v Man Utd
Despite having nothing much to play for, Everton are one of the most in-form sides in the Premier League, winning 4 and drawing 1 of their last 5 games. Their opponents are in similarly impressive form, and had won 6 consecutive games before their defeat to Chelsea last weekend, a tight encounter which was the first time in 12 matches that van Gaal’s men have failed to score. This match looks likely to be a close encounter, with Everton holding the impressive record of having avoided defeat in their last 7 encounters at Goodison. Whilst their poor scoring record (they have averaged just 1.24 goals per game, below the league average) means an outright win is unlikely against the 3rd meanest defence in the league, it is worth backing there to be a draw at 9/4.

Brighton v Watford
With the top 4 teams in the Championship being separated by just 3 points, current leaders Watford will need to make every match count in their fight for promotion. Winning their last 4 games has seen them jump into 1st place, and they will expect to continue that winning run against a Brighton side who have lost 4 of their last 5 games. The Hornets have scored 8 goals in those 4 wins, and are the 2nd highest scoring team in the league. That is largely thanks to their two strikers, Odion Ighalo and Troy Deeney, whose 20 goals apiece make up almost half of their sides 88 goals this campaign. By contrast the Seagulls’ top scorer, Joao Teixeira, has just 6 goals. The gulf in class between these two sides, who are separated by 19 places in the league, is too much to see anything other than a Watford win, priced at 4/5
4/5 – Watford to beat Brighton and Hove Albion
Chesterfield v Bristol City
Two of League One’s most in-form teams go head to head on Saturday at the Proact Stadium, with the possibility that one side’s impressive unbeaten run will come to an end. The hosts haven’t lost in 7 games, whilst their visitors are unbeaten in 13 games, a run which now sees them sitting 7 points clear at the top of the league. Steve Cotterill’s men are the 2nd highest scoring team in the league, and have averaged just under 2 goals per game – a record helped significantly by their 6-0 mauling of Bradford earlier this month. The Spireites, who also won 6-0 on the same day as Bristol did, have conceded 16 more goals and scored 19 less than their visitors, and may struggle against a side which has only lost 5 times all season. Their combination of lethal firepower and a solid defence means that Bristol look like edging this one, and so it is worth backing them to win at 13/8
13/8 – Bristol City to beat Chesterfield
Borussia Mönchengladbach v Wolfsburg
Wolfsburg go into Sunday’s game still looking to bounce back from their shock 4-1 defeat to Napoli in the Europa League, whilst Mönchengladbach need to continue their excellent form to overtake Bayer Leverkuesen in the race for 3rd place. Wolfsburg drew their last game 1-1 against Schalke, seemingly still suffering from their heavy defeat against Napoli, and missed a hatful of chances, scoring with just 1 of their 26 shots. A similar performance against Mönchengladbach, a side who have conceded just 22 goals all season, will almost certainly see them defeated – Mönchengladbach have scored in their last 9 home games, and so look likely to edge it in this tie by shutting out Die Wolfe – Mönchengladbach are priced at 7/5 to triumph in this one.
