Luis Suárez will wear the No. 9 shirt at Inter Miami after joining the club on a deal running until the end of the 2024 MLS season.

Miami confirmed Suárez’s signing on Friday, the 36-year-old moving to Florida on a free transfer after leaving Brazilian club Grêmio.

“I’m very happy and excited to take on this new challenge with Inter Miami,” the striker said. “I can’t wait to get started, and I’m ready to work to make the dream of winning more titles with this great club a reality. I’m optimistic about what we can achieve together with our shared ambition.

“I will give my all to bring joy to these great fans I’ve heard so much about while I wear Inter Miami colours.”

Suárez, who has scored just under 500 club goals during a career that has lasted for nearly two decades, will be reunited in Miami with former Barcelona club-mates Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba.
